I've enjoyed classical Indian music (specifically the
Maharishi Gandharva
Veda series of recordings) for many years, and have always wanted
to play it at Chillits. The difficulty was to keep the set musically
diverse, which I did by wandering into modern world fusion, dub,
jazz, even klezmer.
Most classical ragas are intended to be played at a specific
time of day; since I started this set around dusk, that's what I
selected for -- and that's when you should listen to it, too. I
sometimes get a headache by listening at the wrong time.
