Now that even the redefined center is thinking that maybe blaming homosexuals for everything is silly, they need a new scapegoat -- and immigrants were America's first widespread scapegoat.

Add in the hype (which may not be supported by facts) about outsourcing and the perennial fear (which may be supported by facts this time) that the next generation is too lazy to work, and it's the perfect irrationally divisive issue...just in time for 2006.

I've been trying to avoid crowing too early about Tom Delay's upcoming demise. So there are mug shots, who cares. But this...this is just insane.

As you know, Tom DeLay has been criminally indicted for facilitating the illegal use of corporate funds in Texas campaigns. When he flew to Texas for his arraignment, he held a press conference as soon as he landed, and called these charges "contrived and baseless."

He flew there on a corporate jet provided for his use by tobacco giant R.J. Reynolds.
