Some people -- some friends -- are going to ask why I left a particular anti-spam mailing list after eleven and a half years, and what that means.

Here's a bit of a timeline:

I was interviewed via e-mail by someone from the American Journalism Review. Can't find any sign that anything from my interview was actually published. but this article may be related.

     Remember when Canter & Siegel were referring to all of us (by "us" I mean the thousands of people who are fighting against spam) as vigilantes bent on destroying any commercial presence they might have?
     THEY WERE NOT WRONG. They were being mailbombed, pingflooded, everything that people could think of -- even before their ill-intentioned CyberSell business could get started.
     I was not a party to such abuse. Neither was Chris Lewis, or most of the other well-known people here in the net-abuse newsgroups. But not one of us could honestly say that we did not know it was happening.
